You know how much we love judging people's outfits, so we had to do it.

It's time to shake up Acer Arena and see what falls out: let's talk the best, the mediocre, and the just completely god-awful of ARIA Awards fashion for 2009.

Confession: Sassy spent all last night watching the ARIA Awards and simultaneously discussing it on twitter - she is a straight up ARIAs addict. And Kiki could not care less about the music awards ceremony, but she still can't resist the temptation to check out people's outfits online.

And damn, there were some truly horrendous efforts this year!

It was the year for sequinned and spangly Balmain-inspired mini-dresses.

But while Cassie Davis and Natalie Gruzlewski looked incredibly hot and incredibly effortless, Natalie Bassingthwaite just went that little bit too far, you know? The dress was tight enough to see what she had for breakfast, the shoes were white enough to blind Luke Steele, and it just reminded us a bit too much of a cougar on holiday in Las Vegas.

Speaking of Luke Steele - surely no one expected him and his wife to wear MATCHING OUTFITS. Really? Where on earth did they even find two matching outfits that both had creepy white fringing hanging from the shoulder pads? Do you think they made them themselves? We can totally imagine Mr. and Mrs. Steele spending a Sunday night at home, with bleach on their matching haircuts, sewing up their ARIA ensembles. Can't you?

Jessica Mauboy wore a hideously unflattering white dress on the redcarpet, but once she got on stage she rocked out the hottest outfit of the night wearing a hot, hot, hot black leather studded dress and fingerless gloves. Phwoar. Best dressed of the night, for sure.

Ladyhawke wore a white art smock, Sia wore a black and gold sack, and Ruby Rose made us yawn in a very mediocre red 1980s retro prom dress.

But worst dressed of the night? Keith Urban: glittery plaid shirts are NEVER okay.

  Hmm. Sarah Blasko, Kate M-H, Hailey Warner has improved her hair, Stan looks neat, Guy looks smooooth az - would have liked to see a matching bottom half of that jacket. Cassie looked glam.

  Bassingthwaite even had 80s glam rock porno hair. Shame, Natalie, shame.

  What the hell was Charli Delaney wearing?! It was like twoblack hankies sewn together. I get she was in Hi-5 and is making up for lost time, but geez...

  Isn't everyone officially sick of Ruby Rose? Can she please go away now?
