Update: Stars react to Kanye's onstage outburst.
It's VMA time! And we bet that Lady Gaga, Perez Hilton and all the other fame whores who attended are totally disappointed that, in the end, it was Kanye West who stole the show.
They all put in good efforts, like Lady Gaga turning up dressed as a drag version of the Phantom of the Opera, with Kermit the Frog as her date.
Perez Hilton painted his hands yellow, for no good reason. Beyonce dressed as some kind of giant red rose. And Shakira and Pink wore matching outfits for maximum awkwardness.
But no one 's a better attention stealer than Kanye, right?
The adorable and angelic Taylor Swift was the winner this year for the Best Female Video, but just as she started to thank people for giving country music a chance, Kanye West stormed back on the stage and cut her off.
He grabbed the mic and told the crowd: Beyonce had one of the BEST VIDEOS OF ALL TIME. OF ALL TIME! He was talking about her video for Single Ladies, obviously. Which is a pretty awesome video, not gonna lie. We've both learned all the moves and dance around the house to it.
But, um, Kanye .... SIT DOWN, PLEASE.
It's so obvious he just hates being out of the spotlight so he decided to run back onto the stage with his ridiculous mind-puzzle shaved hair and grab the spotlight back for himself.
It was sooooo totally awkward for Beyonce, who was flattered but also mortified and had no idea what to do or say. Not to mention for poor little Taylor Swift, whose heart basically broke on stage. Eventually she couldn't even manage to finish her speech, and just left the stage. The crowd tried to give Taylor a standing ovation, and even Pink shook her head in disgust at Kanye.
We say biggest douche bag of the night: hands down goes to Kanye. Don't you agree?

That was so rude! Poor Taylor Swift. She's a young, talented artist who deserved the award. Kanye had no right to get up there, while she was making her thankyou speech. Just because he's not going to win an award. Yeah, Beyonce's a great artist and her filmclip was pretty good, but the public voted for Taylor Swift. Kanye, how could you be so Heartless?

OMG! this was so embarrasing to even watch! Poor Taylor Swift! I mean, I'm all for people being honest and saying what's on their mind, but theres a time and place! Not in front of millions of fans and your peers and beating down a young woman - please Kanye - you're great at what you do, but not that great after what you did.

He's entitled to his opinion, and he may or may not be right in saying that Beyonce had a better video... but there's a time to express your opinion, and a time to keep it to yourself. His opinion was not called for and the way he went about making it known was inappropriate and hurtful to Taylor.
