(Image: FilmMagic)Geri Halliwell has announced that she is engaged. After a whirlwind romance, the Ginger Spice Girl, 36, has become engaged to Fabizio Politi, 34, who owns an Italian yacht company. We can’t wait to see the AU$460,000 diamond ring.
No wedding date has been set but hopefully it will be a very long engagement, Geri and Fabizio have only been dating since December.
While whirlwind romances seem like things of fairytales, they don’t always work out. Should we make sure that we fully know someone before committing the rest of our lives to them? Does love at first sight really exist? Will it last?
Geri isn’t the first celeb to rush into marriage. Britney Spears got engaged to Kevin Federline after 3 months of dating – they later divorced after two years of marriage. Britney later said she was more in love with the idea of marriage than the reality. Private Practice’s star agreed to marry her man after 4 months of dating – their marriage lasted just 1 year.
Plus, who could forget Pamela Anderson marrying Tommy Lee 96 hours after meeting him. While the two have remained friends as they raise their sons, their marriage was over in just three years.

Love at first sight really does exist. My husband and I only knew each other for 6 weeks before getting married. We have now been together for over 30 years.

love at first sight exists but it comes in many forms and its really up to yourself to make that love last!!! I met my partner 3 days later we started dating 4 months later we got engaged, 11 months later we got married. and 1 month after that we had our first child. I think if Geri wants to get married to this guy then go for it!!!!! not long until it gets harder for you to have kids so you go for it girl......
