Dumped former host of The Biggest Loser, Ajay Rochester, jetted out of Australia yesterday for the US in a desperate attempt to resurrect her career as a TV presenter.

ScandalAnt understands Rochester is heading to the stars and stripes to work on a new reality television concept and has taken her friend, US television personality Leeza Gibbons, with her.

It’s not known whether Gibbons is involved in the concept or there to offer moral support.

Before Network Ten announced they weren’t renewing Rochester’s contract, she had been in an increasingly frosty relationship with management.

As the third series of The Biggest Loser drew to a close earlier this year, Rochester stocked up on freebies at the show's Manly mansion, including coffee, tea, sugar and boxes of bottled water.

But the show’s producers said Rochester was welcome to the products because they were provided for the stars and staff.
 
The Biggest Loser host was in January was acquitted of 23 counts of welfare fraud after accepting $14,000 from Centrelink she wasn't entitled to.

Rochester didn’t turn up to the wrap party of the fourth series of the show at the Surry Hills White Horse Hotel on March 27, skipping the event as she had done the previous year.

In hindsight, maybe Rochester should have taken the publicity opportunity that arose when a journalist visited her home, instead of calling the cops.

Rumours are swirling that she’ll be replaced as host in the next series, by Season 3 contestant Alison Braun despite word from Ten that producers won’t go with another past contestant.
