Nat Bass trades in Rogues for solo album
Music 25 June, 2008 - 8:32 AM
Rogue Traders singer Natalie Bassingthwaighte has reportedly quit the dance group to focus on her solo career.
News of a solo album has been floating around the industry for the last couple of years, but as the gorgeous frontwoman recently told us, she's just been too busy with the Roguies and hosting So You Think You Can Dance to get stuck into it.
Having just wrapped their biggest tour around Australia ever, Rogues main man James Ash told The Age "as Nat's career choices are taking her in new exciting directions, she won't be able to be a part of the Rogue Traders."
Watch Nat talk about her solo sound and why it's taken so long
The 32-year-old admits she started working on songs last year, but "there was just too many things going on." As for the direction the new songs will take, she ain't giving anything away.
"I'm not going to tell you," she told us with a mischievious smile. "I'll get back to you at the end of the year and tell you what's going on."

Not sure if I'm upset or not. On the one hand how will the Rougies go now without Nat? Will they get another female singer as lead vocal? But on the other hand, I have been wanting Nat to do solo for ages esp since the Shannon Noll duet, I think she is amazing! I did think though that she would just take time off from RT but I guess she decided against that. I can't wait till her album is released. I will buy it for sure! Nat Bass is awesome!!!
