Kate Winslet has split from her second husband of 7-years, British director, Sam Mendes.

"Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year," the couple announced through their lawyers. "The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children."

Kate, 34, and Sam, 44, married in 2003 and have a 6-year-old son named Joe. Kate also has a 9-year-old daughter, Mia, from her first marriage.

Last year when she won Best Actress at the Golden Globes she spent so much time gushing over her love for Leonardo DiCaprio. Was this a sign of things to come?
