After Hamish was stopped in the street recently and asked if he knew where 'The Fish' lived it got him thinking about people with nicknames that begin with 'The'.

  My nickname is "The Future" but my friends have shortened it to
  "Future". I got it because i always say that i am the future of basketball (and i am), so from that i got th nickname "The Future".

  My husband has given himself the humble nickname
  of ' The Inseminator' after once getting pregnant with contraception ,and the next time when we were on opposite sides of the world and only had a three week window to conceive. He says he doesn't know his own strength. I say he should check out the resemblance that his daughter has to the milkman.

  I am a fireman and have a work friend nicknamed 'The Diamond"...
  The reasons for this are two fold..
  Firstly the man is a girls best friend..hence "Diamond'
  Secondly..he worked in the mines up at Newcastle for twenty years..

  yeah hi my nickname is "The Fish" i got this name because the first day at high school I got told that I looked like Dory from Finding Nemo. That and I had a photo put in the 2006 year book that was of me making a very stupid looking fishface... lol aniwho thats my story... LOVE YOU HAMISH AND ANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  My mate Felix's unofficial nickname is 'The Turtle' because he makes the turtle mouth shape with his upper lip over his lower one. Especialy when my other mate threw a pebble that hit him in the mouth and he covered his mouth in this position with his mouth.

  im usually caled 'the captain' by all my mates...this is because in primary i was class captain yr 5 house captain, yr 6 school captain. then in my cricket club i was captain for 4 years. during highschool i was house captain in yr 11 and now im currently school captain.. so during last year my mates started to call me 'the captain'
