What is everyone talking about?

Check Your Boobs! Posted by Camilla 1 July, 2008 - 8:24 AM

Pinch and a punch for the first day of the month! And with a new month we launch yet another breast check day. You can check out the details on the website for information on how to check your own breasts.

Last week the disease again came to light because Jane McGrath, wife of famous cricketer Glenn McGrath and mother of two young children lost her 11 year battle with breast cancer. It's such a devastating disease. At this point in time it seems that everyone is affected by it... whether you've had a scare yourself, you know someone who's had the disease, or you've lost someone.

I myself have lost a dear friend to breast cancer, the mother of my best friend. She was only 50… what a tragic loss. She never complained. She was so brave and such an inspiration. We miss her. We will never forget her.

Let's be honest girls, breast cancer is a horrible subject. No one like talking about death and sadness. No one likes to admit that they're fallible. We all like to think that nothing like this will ever happen to us… but it can.

No one knows your body the way you do, so if you check for changes and lumps regularly you've got a much better chance of detecting anything suspicious. Early detection is your best bet in beating this tragic disease.

SO GET CHECKING!
