Pancake Day 2009 says
Queenslanders are urged to cook up a storm this February, by hosting a UnitingCare Pancake Day event to help raise money for local people in need.
Registrations are now open for community groups, schools, businesses and individuals to help UnitingCare support 14 000 Queenslanders every day by holding a Pancake Day event on Tuesday 24 February or alternatively any time in February.

BRISBANE MACGREGOR LIONS CLUB says
Macgregor Lions Club Trivia Night and Silent Auction to raise funds for medical research such as cancer, diabetes, leukemia and obesity.
Date: Saturday 28th February, 2009.
Venue: Warrigal Road State School,
Warrigal Rd, Eight Mile Plaiins.Time: 7.00 p.m. for 7.30 p.m. start
Cost: $10 per adult $5 per child (school aged)
Tables of 8 or come along and join a table on the night. Everyone at the winning table wins a great prize.
Also buy a great bargain in the Silent Auction. Lucky door prizes and raffle.
Prizes include electrical goods, pamper packs, gym memberships, wine, dinners, food and much more.

BRISBANE MACGREGOR LIONS CLUB says
A Sunday afternoon music concert will be held on March 29th at 2.00 p.m. at heritage-listed Holy Trinity Anglican Church 68 Hawthorne Street, Woolloongabba .
The concert features the Brisbane Regional Youth Orchestra playing popular classics, hits from the films and stage and jazz. The orchestra will be under the direction of Mr Shaun Dorney. They will be supported by well-known Brisbane violinist M/s Kerry Smith. Also featured will be choristers from St Stephens Cathedral Boys Choir and vocal soloists. The choir will be under the direction of Dr Ralph Morton.
The concert is being orgainsed by Brisbane Macgregor Lions Club. Funds raised will support the Lions Medical Research Foundation and B.R.Y.O. Medical Research for which these funds are being raised includes cancer, diabetes, epilepsy, obesity, arthritis and bone disorders and perinatal research.
Great lucky door and raffle prizes.
Some tickets also available at the door.
Cost $8 per adult including afternoon tea. There will also be a stall selling home goodies including jams and pickles, cakes and craft.
