Stephanie Rice
Stephanie Rice is a 19-year old swimmer from Brisbane who is on her way to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. She currently holds the world records for both the 200 and 400 metre individual medley.While she may have appeared to have just burst onto the scene, Stephanie has been involved in competitive swimming for many years. Rice won gold medals in the 200 and 400 metres individual medley in the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
Stephanie also won bronze medals for the same races at the 2007 Melbourne World Champions.
It was at the recent Olympic trials that Rice broke the world record in both the 200 and 400 metre individual medleys.
